Welcome to the 2020 Season for the 18-Hole Golf League!!!

These are unusual times with unusual circumstances, but our League carries on!  We begin with our first Play Day next week, April 7th, at Kahite.  Please sign up on Chelsea if you haven’t already.

Thankfully, golf is one of the activities that we can continue to enjoy.  The staff at each of our courses are making every effort to make sure that we are safe to play and able to be in the company of friends.  Some of the resulting changes include individual carts, no scorecards or pencils, no rakes in the bunkers, no pulling the flagstick out of the hole.  Most significantly for us, we will not be able to have shotgun starts.  Instead, our fearless leader Jeff Harrington will be setting up pairings and assigning tee-times.

These changes mean that for the foreseeable future our League will not be playing the games that have been listed on the schedule.  Instead you will keep track of your own score using the YamaTrack app, the GHIN app, or by recording on your phone and then texting or emailing me for posting.  We will explain these options in more detail in another email prior to next weeks’ play.

Someday soon we’ll be playing League games again, riding in carts together, recording birdies and chip-ins, and gathering before and after play.  Until then, remember that we can enjoy these things –

Being outdoors!

Playing golf!

Meeting new people and seeing old friends!

So…sign up each week on Chelsea and let’s have some fun!!!

Ann Silvis, Vice President

The League Luncheon, scheduled for April 14, has been cancelled.  We will play golf as a regular day.  Please sign up on chelsea.

Following our last play day of 2019, we planted a memorial plaque and 3 encore Azaleas (2 reds and a white) to honor our dear friend and fellow golfer, Carol Padgett.  This memorial is located in the garden to the left of the cart path between Toqua holes #2 and #3.
